Mark Wooster

Mark Wooster has been engaged by Capital Investment Planning Limited to provide expert advice to the Investment Performance Committee. Mark is the principal of Caliber Investment which he began after many years in a diverse range of financial service roles.

Mark has been a client adviser with a bank and a major financial planning firm. He held the position of General Manager, Investments and Operations for a major financial planning firm for seven years providing research and investment solutions for clients of the group. He was responsible for ensuring the investments were effectively executed, administered and accounted for. He maintained and developed relationships with trustees, administrators, brokers and fund managers. Mark handled other initiatives including custodial requirements, client relationship management systems, master trusts, tax, GST and compliance

From 2001-2003 Mark was Chief Investment Officer for the Sovereign Group. There he led a team of portfolio managers with $3.2 billion under management. A comprehensive approach to investment management was undertaken by the team. This involved determining assets and asset classes, asset allocation, portfolio construction, security selection, portfolio management, manager research, manager selection, monitoring and review of internal portfolios, monitoring and review of managers, execution, performance reporting, market commentary, technical and sales and marketing support. When ASB and Sovereign merged Mark was appointed Chief Investment Officer for the Group with $5.5 billion of funds under management. Mark left ASB Group Investments to establish Caliber Investment in June of 2005.
